Zac Whyte

Zac Whyte is a global studies educator and photo/video journalist specializing in social and economic development around the world. Zac is a 2004 honours graduate of British Columbia Institute of Technology's Television and Media Broadcast Communications program and valedictorian of BCIT's School of Business. Zac is currently continuing his studies to complete a BA in Liberal Studies from Vancouver Island University. He intends to complete a teaching certificate at the University of Victoria and a masters degree in Human Security and Peacebuilding at Royal Roads University.

Zac is currently a Youth Waste Reduction Contract Educator for Comox Strathcona Waste Management on Vancouver Island. He delivers dynamic and educational lessons to hundreds of classrooms in School District #71 and #72. The Power of R program explores current environmental issues of solid waste management, water conservation and pesticide use.

Zac has worked for Canadian television and radio networks: CBC, CHUM, Global Canwest, CTV, TSN, and several production companies in British Columbia. He has worked as an on-air personality, journalist, camera op, editor, lighting tech and floor director. In 2004 Zac started a small production company and ad agency called zactv.com. The business creates multimedia for corporations, educational institutions and government. Zac is receptive to work that requires international travel, research, photography, EFP camera and editing work. He is also available for marketing communications positions on a contractual basis. Zac's true passion is people and he is an advocate for education at every level, locally and globally. In his spare time he coordinates non-profit initiatives for Free The Children, his latest , Connecting With Kenya raised $40k in 6 months. He also started Zac Whyte presents Occupation Human, a non-profit media innitiative to bring positive awareness and action to development projects around the world.
